Completamente rimesso a nuovo dopo l’incendio che lo ha devastato nel 1957, il Politeama Giacosa re­sta oggi (soprattutto dopo la chiu­sura forzata per inagibilità del Tea­tro Mercadante) la maggiore ribal­ta di prosa napoletana, la sede de­gli spettacoli più applauditi e com­mercialmente redditizi. E’ oggi il maggior teatro napole­tano di prosa e rivista, la ribalta dove passano tutti gli spettacoli di maggior successo commerciale. Inaugurato nel 1872, era stato ri­costruito dopo un incendio nel 1931. Nuovamente danneggiato da un incendio nel 1957, è stato comple­tamente rinnovato nel biennio 1958- 1959. (Italian)
