Completamente rimesso a nuovo dopo l’incendio che lo ha devastato nel 1957, il Politeama Giacosa resta oggi (soprattutto dopo la chiusura forzata per inagibilità del Teatro Mercadante) la maggiore ribalta di prosa napoletana, la sede degli spettacoli più applauditi e commercialmente redditizi. E’ oggi il maggior teatro napoletano di prosa e rivista, la ribalta dove passano tutti gli spettacoli di maggior successo commerciale. Inaugurato nel 1872, era stato ricostruito dopo un incendio nel 1931. Nuovamente danneggiato da un incendio nel 1957, è stato completamente rinnovato nel biennio 1958- 1959. (Italian)
