E’ un pregevole edificio neoclassico, eretto nel triennio 1850-53 dall’architetto Carlo Falcone. Ha subito restauri dopo un incendio nel 1882 e dopo un bombardamento bellico nel 1942. Chiuso nel 1953 per un generale restauro, è stato riaperto nel 1963 dopo importanti lavori curati dall’architetto Luigi Caliterna. (Italian)
