Inauguré en 1857, le théâtre impérial de Fontainebleau conçu par Hector Lefuel n’aura servi qu’une quinzaine de fois avant d’être fermé en 1870, puis réutilisé sporadiquement dans les années 1920 et sous l’occupation allemande. Il est ainsi l’un des derniers en Europe à avoir conservé la quasi-intégralité de son mobilier, de sa machinerie, de ses éclairages et décors d’origine. (English)
