L’Hôtel de Ville de Saint-Omer est situé en plein centre-ville, sur la place Foch. Il est l’œuvre de l’architecte Pierre-Bernard Lefranc (1795-1856), élève de Pierre Fontaine (1762-1853). Ce bâtiment est le seul réalisé dans le Pas-de-Calais par Lefranc. À l’intérieur, le théâtre à l’italienne est l’élément central de l’édifice. La conception et le chantier datent des années 1834-1835. Le volume architectural de l’ensemble s’inscrit dans un parallélépipède, coiffé d’une toiture à quatre versants, sur laquelle domine un clocheton faisant office de beffroi. (English)
