Built 1756 as Comödienhaus by Johann David Fischer on the site of the former Oper am Gänsemarkt. Opened 31 July 1756. Used for drama and opera performances. 1767-1769 named Deutsches Nationaltheater, later Hamburgisches Stadt-Theater and Théàtre du Gänsemarkt (1806-1814). Also known as Theater im Opernhof.
