Built 1912 by Frank Matcham for Oswald Stoll. Opened 9 Sep 1912. 1840 seats (+ standing). Coinverted to a cinema in the late 1920s. After World War II, again used as a live theatre. Closed 31 Jan 1955. Later used as television studio. Auditorium demolished in the 1960s in favour of a supermarket. The entrance building in High Road survived and is used as a bank. (English)
