Open-air park theatre, built 1743-1744 by Joseph Saint-Pierre for Margrave Wilhelmine of Brandenburg-Bayreuth. Probably opened 29 Aug 1744 with an Italian opera and a French comedy. Later addition of a roofed auditorium space with 230 seats. Since 1980, used for summer drama performances by the Studiobühne Bayreuth company. (English)
