Built 1939-1940 by Marcel Pinon as Salle des Fêtes. 1963 rebuilding, installing two theatre halls (916 and 350 seats), exhibition space and a discotheque. Re-opened 12 Oct 1963 as Maison de la Culture de Bourges (MCB). 2012-2013 rebuilding, preserving only the protected façade. When Roman ruins were discovered during construction, the rebuilding was stopped. In 2013, the city decided to abandon the site and built a new Maison de la Culture 200 metres south. (English)
