Built by Willoughby J. Edbrooke. Opened 23 Apr 1889. Named after the American miner and businessman, Jerome B. Wheeler (1841-1918), who funded the building. Later also used as a cinema. 1984 restorations. Used for opera performancs by the annual Aspen Music Festival and for live theatre, concerts and film screenings throughout the year. 503 seats.
