Opened 11 Feb 1890 as New Belle Opera House with Gilbert & Sullivan's light opera The Pirates of Penzance. 1906 renamed Racine Theatre, 1914 renamed Rex Theatre. Later used as a cinema. Closed 1930. Re-opened in the late 1930s. Closed 1939. Later converted to a bowling alley. Demolished in the late 1960s. (English)
