Circus building, built 1904-1905 by Friedrich Kristeller and Hugo Sonnenthal for the circus director Albert Schumann (1858-1939). Opened 5 Dec 1905. Also known as Circus Schumann. Used for circus and revue performances, and other events. 4500 seats. - Rear parts destroyed by bombs in 1944. Front building subsequently used as a restaurant. Demolished 1960 in favour of an office block. (English)
