Built 1778-1780 by Alessio Lorenzini. Opened 15 Aug 1781 as Teatro Civico del Verzaro. 1874 renovations and alterations by Guglielmo Calderini. Re-opened as Teatro Morlacchi, in honour of the Italian composer, Francesco Morlacchi (1784-1841). Damaged in World War II. 1951-1953 restorations. Originally 1200 seats, currently 785 seats.
