Statements
Built 1844-1847. Opened 1847 as Teatro Comunale. 1862 renamed in honour of the Italian composer, Placido Mandanici (1799-1852). Damaged by an earthquake in 1908. Rebuilt from the 1920s in Fascist style and re-opened in 1933. Destroyed by a fire on 31 May 1967. (English)
