Built 1927-1929 by Václav Šantrůček and Antonín Mendl. Opened 1929. Named in honour of the Czech playwright, Josef Kajetán Tyl (1808-1856). Used for an annual music festival Martinů Fest, held every October in honour of the Policka-born composer, Bohuslav Martinů. 2002 renovations. (English)
