    Built 1930 by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, Bertie Crewe, Cecil Masey as a private theatre for Sydney Bernstein. Decorations by Theodor Komisarjevsky. Painted safety curtain by Polunin. The theatre has two fronts with entrances from Charing Cross Road and Phoenix Street respectively. Opened 24 Sep 1930 with Noel Coward's play Pivate Lives. Currently operated by the Ambassador Theatre Group. 1012 seats. (English)
