Opened 1920 as Teatro Comunale, owned by the city of Martina Franca. 1932 damaged by fire, subsequently rebuilt. 1940 sold to the Miali family, 1950 sold to the Dilonardo family. 1951 restorations. Since then also used as a cinema. Also known as Cineteatro Verdi. Named in honour of the Italian opera composer, Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901). (English)
