Built 1881 by W. H. M. Ward . Opened 26 September 1881 as an assembly and concert hall (capacity: 10000 persons). In the 1880s addition of another hall (capacity: 1000 persons) and St James's Theatre. Demolished 1909 in favour of the office block St. James' Building. (English)
