Built 1841-1843 as Teatro Sociale by Giovan Battista Bassi for a citizens' group led by Antonio Simoni and Antonio Monte Rumici. Later renamed in honour of the Italian actor and patriot, Gustavo Modena (1803-1861). Ca. 1990-2000 renovations. Currently used as a touring venue for drama performances and for concerts. 300 seats.
