Opera house and theatre, built 1997-2002 by Vittorio Gregotti with Mario Botta and Elisabetta Fabbri. Named after the Arcimboldi noble family. Opened 19 Jan 2002 with Verdi's La traviata. Home to the Teatro alla Scala opera company during the renovation of its historic building in 2002-2004. Later used for opera and musical performances as well as for classical, jazz and pop concerts. 2346 seats. (English)
