A business is a organization undertaking commercial, industrial, or professional activity.
We organise businesses in subclasses depending on their activity. Each subclass can have specific properties to descrive their activity.

Basic information
Label*
- The name of the businessin it's original language
- We do not translate this, except if the business itself uses different names in different countries. Do not confuse this with different business entities in different countries that should be describes as different items.(just copy in your language)
- Use the most frequent name as label, note alternative names or abreviations in the also known as field.
Description
- You can give a short (max 30 words) description of the business
- This will (not always) be translated

- This field is used to facilitate searching.
- Add abreviations
- Add alternative spelling
- Add nicknames
Field (P19)*
- This is used to define in what field the business was active and makes it possible to find all businesses in a specific field of interest.
- Multiple entries are possible, but avoid to use to many fields.
- Possible values can be found in Field (Q37)
Type of information (P11)*
- The [type of information] is always "business"
- Type of business (P10)
- type of business, acceptable values can be found in the Type of business value list (Q31824).
- This is a obligatory qualifier
Historical name (P20)
- it is not uncommon for businesses to change name over time. Previous names can be entered here.
- Ideally the historical names are also entered as also known as in the header.
- add start date (P38) and end date (P39 as qualifiers if apropriate
Importance (P20)
- defines how important this business was for the history of technical theatre, it is used to select items for large visualisations.
- acceptable values can be found in the Importance value list (Q8)
Context (P47)
- Can be used to give more information about the business, the importance, etc.
- Text length is limited, if needed add a second value.
- Language is mandatory (fill the language of the text.)
- If the information is retrieved from an existing source, add a qualifier source (P63) or source URL (P64)
Link to internal Wikipage (P23)
- This is a link to a wiki-page that will appear on top of the page, with more detailed information about the business .
- Language (P35)
- Language of the wiki-page.
- This is a obligatory qualifier
Occupation (P32)
- This property is meant for occupation of persons, but for practical reasons it can be used if a business functions for example as an author or architect .
- A tree of possible values can be found in the occupation value list (Q31886).
- Use an occupation as low in the tree as possible.
- Multiple values are possible.

Founding date (P115)
- the date the business is founded, the date it starts to exist.
demolished, dissolved or abolished (P108)
- date the business ceased to exist
Significant date (P237)
- a date that is significant for the business, and is not captured in the standard set of date properties available.
- Needs a qualifier timeline label (this is shown on the timeline and in lists to make the date visible.)
- Describe the event in a context qualifier

Founded by (P54)
- persons (or organisations or businesses) that founded the business.

- Refers to an organisation the business has founded
worked here (inverse property label of Has worked in (P227))
- Refers to an person that worked for the business
Significant person (P56)
- Refers to a person that was significant for the business.
- Describe the significance in a context (P47) qualifier.
Member of (P46)
- refers to an organisation or business the item is member of.
- refers to persons in the Board or management functions.
- Describe the exact function in a context (P47) qualifier.

- businesses merge of split sometimes, or become part of a larger organisation or cosortium. This property can be used to note these relations.

- if you add a qualifier Instance of (P1) with value “featured image" (Q105), the picture will show automatically on top of the page.

- a video on youtube about this business.
- if the video mentions multiple persons, businesses or subjects, make a separate source for it and use the mentions property to refer to the person.
- copy the string after ?v= in the Youtube url and paste it in the [Youtube video] property.
