Built 1904 by John Bailey McElfatrick. Opened 29 Aug 1904 as Majestic Theatre with The Wizard of Oz. Closed ca. 1968. Since 1987 operated by the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) and renamed BAM Majestic Theatre. Renovations by Hugh Hardy that maintained much of the delapidated interior. 1999 renamed BAM Harvey Theatre in honour of the American arts administrator and president of BAM, Harvey Lichtenstein (1929-2017). Originally 1708 seats, now 874 seats. (English)
