Nightclub, opened in the 1920 as Palais Royale with the Moulin Rouge in the basement. 1942 re-opened as Latin Quarter. 1969-1978 upstairs room used as a cinema (Cine Lido, 575 seats), from 1978 as a disco (22 Steps), from 1979 as a Broadway theatre (22 Steps, 1980 renamed Princess Theatre, 1984 renamed Latin Quarter). 1985 re-opened as nightclub Latin Quarter. Demolished 1989 in favour of a hotel. - [Subsequently, the nightclub first moved to 2551 Broadway at 96th Street, and in 2003 to 511 Lexington Avenue at 48th Street]. (English)
