Built 1911 by W. T. Barlow. Opened 1911 as Kursaal. 1919 renamed Theatre Royal. 1941 converted into a cinema. 1947 rebuildings, re-opened as Rex Entertainment Centre. 1974 renamed Royal Movie Centre. Closed 30 Aug 1975. Demolished in 1975. Subsequently, Regis Centre was built on the site. (English)
