context
1813 byggde svensken C.G. C.L.

In 1813, the Swede C.G. Bonuvier built Finland's first proper theatre building on the site of the present-day Turku Swedish Theatre. Bonuvier's wooden theatre building burnt down in the great fire of 1827, after which the theatre was rebuilt in much the same architecture. C.L. Engel made the plans for the new theatre building, which was opened on 21.1.1839. (English)
