Built 1900 by Frank Matcham for Edward Moss as a hippodrome for circus and variety performances, including a tank for aquatic performances. 1909 conversion into a variety theatre by Frank Matcham (ca. 1340 seats). 1958 demolition of the original interior and conversion into the cabaret restaurant, Talk of the Town. Later used as a discotheque and nightclub. 2009-2012 rebuildings. Re-opened 2012 as Hippodrome Casino. Used as a gaming casino and for live entertainment. (English)
