Built by Stanley Davenport Adshead. Opened 29 June 1904 as Pavilion, a seaside pavilion used as an assembly hall and concert hall. 1929 converted into a cinema, reopened 9 Sep 1929 as Pavilion Cinema. Closed as a cinema on 16 June 1951. Subsequently again used for live performances. 1976 converted into a casino. Closed 2008-2013. Reopened in 2013 after refurbishment. 2016-2017 major refurbishment, converted into a pub by the Wetherspoon chain. (English)
