Theatre and cinema, built 1930-1931 by John Eberson. Opened 23 Oct 1931 as RKO Palace Theatre with the film Devotion. 1960 rebuilding (including a new marquee). Closed Sep 1969. Subsequently purchased by the city of Albany and re-opened as a music venue and live theatre (also known as Albany Civic Auditorium). 2002 renovation. 2004 installation of a replica of the original marquee. 2844 seats. Home to the Albany Symphony Orchestra. (English)
