Built 1903 by Frank Matcham for Frederick William Purcell. Opened 5 Oct 1903 with an opera performance. 1918 renamed Marlborough Picture Theatre and used as a a full-time cinema. Closed 31 Aug 1957. Demolished in 1962 in favour of an office block (The Marlborough Building). (English)
