Built 1842 by Heinrich Thormann. Opened 2 Oct 1842 with Friedrich Halm's Der Sohn der Wildnis. Until 1859, and again 1925-1945 mainly used for guest performances by the Schwerin theatre company. 1945-1948 used for opera and drama performances by a resident company. Destroyed by fire on 9 Jan 1948. (English)
