Built 1905 by Frank Matacham. Opened 25 Oct 1905 as a variety theatre. 1850 seats. 1929 converted into a cinema, with occasional live performances. 1958 rebuildings. 1959 reopened as Savoy Ballroom. Later used as a bingo hall until the 1980s. Demolished in 1985 in favour of an office block. (English)
