Reiche & Vogel catalogues added (30/8/2023)

Chris Van Goethem indexed 3 catalogs from Reiche & Vogel, which gives a good overview of the material they build in the earlier period between 1946 and 1960's. With special thanks to David Bertenshaw, who offered us his 1960's catalogue. Pictures to come soon.

User help pages and news added (15/8/2023)

We added basic help pages for readers, to support searching and understanding the structure of the information, and (this news page, to show updates in (sub)projects, updates and new features.

Swedish theatres (14/8/2023)

Anders Larsson started reworking the (huge) list of Swedish theatres from Per Edström's book Liten handbok i gammal teaterteknik to import them in the Canonbase.

French version (12/8/2023)

Thanks to Laura Van Der Schueren and Elena Scheltens, both students of Hogent, who translated the web-interface of Canonbase in French, we launced today a full working French interface.

Gerriets collection (9/8/2023)

Gerriets Scheinwerfermuseum in Volgelsheim

We visited the Gerriets collection together with Stefan Graebner. Stefan will add the entire collection in the database, so it can be visited online by all interested parties.

Manual (31/7/2023)

We are working on / importing / checking the manual for users and for content creators. The first part, the introductopn for readers will be available for all users. The next parts are meant to support content developers in their work. Each type of information contains the properties that can be used and the way we structure the information. There is still some work to do, but feel free to give some feedback.

Business replaces Manufacturer (30/7/2023)

The manuafacturer type of information has been moved as a subclass under an new type of information Business. This gives us the possibility to use different types of businesses like "architectoral firms", "publishers", "rental companies", ...

New feature: Themes (27/7/2023)

We added a new feature: Themes that can be used by researchers or people working on an article or paper to bring all their information together. A first test was done by Chris for an article on the "Early history of moving lights" in STEPP magazine.

Pani history (2/7/2023)

Larry Bush (ÖTHG) and Teresa Mar (Projection artist) are working on the history of Pani. We collaborate to structure the information and gather sources for this story. A large amount of information about Pani is recovered from disapeared websites and other sources, including old brochures we got from ELECTRIC CLAUDIO MERLO LIGHTING EQUIPMENT S.A. in Switserland.

Canon Stories in Dutch (20/6/2023)
