Introduction

The properties below are specific for dimmers. They are to be used on top of the general equipment properties described in the Equipment help page.

If a dimmer is part of a lighting console, it will be described as a lighting console, but also as a dimmer using the properties below. Therefore it will have two qualifiers [type of equipment].

Example: ADB JN8 lightboard (Q13454)

Specific properties for dimmers

Control signal (P344)

  • The control signal that can be fead to the dimmer
  • Multiple values possible
Control signal value list (Q12990)

Dimming method (P202)

  • The method used to dim the light
Dimming method value list (Q30815)

Channels (P345)

  • Number of output channels of a dimmer or lightboard

Max load per channel (P347)

  • The maximum wattage a channel can provide.
  • Prefered unit is Watt
  • Multiple values are possible if dimmers with different maximum loads are in the same equipment. Use channels as a qualifier to define how much channels for a specific load.

Max total load (P348)

  • The maximum wattage the appliance can provide.
  • Prefered unit is Watt

Power supply configuration (P346)

  • The connection arrangement used to connect the equipment to the power supply
  • Multiple values possible (in case of switchable equipment)
power supply configuration value list (Q13460)

Connector type (P230)

  • Use only for unique pieces, or types that have a build in connector
  • Can be used for power supply as well as for control signal connections.
  • Can be used as a separate property as well as a qualifier under the appropriate property.
