Built by G. Albert Lansburgh and Stiles O. Clements for Charles Edward Toberman. Opened 3 May 1926 as a live theatre named El Capitan Theatre with Charlot's Revue. Used as a cinema since the 1930s. On 9 May 1941, site of the world premiere of the 1941 film, www.imdb.comCitizen Kane. Renamed Hollywood Paramount Theatre. 1972 renamed Hollywood Cinema, 1973 again Paramount Theatre. 1989-1991 renovated by the Walt Disney company. Installation of a 1929 theatre organ from the Fox Theatre, San Francisco. Re-opened 18 June 1991 as El Capitan Theatre. Since then, site of many world premieres of films made by Disney Studios. 1100 seats. (English)
