Flying an angel.

Bishop Abraham (Abrahamius) of Suzdal traveled to the Council of Florence, held between 1431 and 1449. During his travel he visited several church plays. He made an enthusiastic and detailed description of the Florence sacre rappresentazioni, the mysteries depicting the Annunciation and Ascension, called the Letters of Suzdal. These letters are a rare source about the, by definition temporary, medieval technology used to fly people.

The 3D models in the documents are based on Abraham of Suzdal's descriptions, and the accompanying text documents the research that is the basis for these drawings. Download the PDF File:Bishop Abraham of Suzdal and his travels.pdf.

You can download the models, view with a Sketchup viewer or even adapt them yourself.
