Introduction

On organisation is a social entity established to meet needs or pursue goals. In most cases organisations in this sense will be non-for-profit.

We organise organisations in subclasses depending on their activity. Each subclass can have specific properties to descrive their activity.

Header

Label*

  • The name of the organisation, as it is known now, in it's original language
  • This will only be translated if the organisation itself uses a translation of their name.

Description

  • You can give a short (max 30 words) description of the person
  • This will (not always) be translated

Also known as

  • This field is used to facilitate searching.
  • Add abreviations
  • Add alternative spelling
  • Add nicknames

Basic information

Field (P19)*

  • This is used to define in what field the organisation is active and makes it possible to find all persons in a specific field of interest.
  • Multiple entries are possible, but avoid to use to many fields.

  • Previous names can be added here, if appropriate with [start date], [end date], and [context]

Importance (P20)

  • defines how important this organisation was for the history of technical theatre, it is used to select items for large visualisations.

Context (P47)

  • Can be used to give more information about the organisation, the importance, etc.
  • Text length is limited, if needed add a second value.
  • Language is mandatory (fill the language of the text.)
  • If the information is retrieved from an existing source, add a qualifier source (P63) or source URL (P64)

Link to internal Wikipage (P23)

  • This is a link to a wiki-page that will appear on top of the page, with more detailed information about the person.
  • Language (P35)

    • This is a obligatory qualifier

Founding date (P115)

  • the date the organisation is founded, the date it starts to exist.

dissolved or abolished (P320)

  • date the organisation ceased to exist

Significant date (P237)

  • a date that is significant for the organisation, and is not captured in the standard set of date properties available.
  • Needs a qualifier timeline label (this is shown on the timeline and in lists to make the date visible.)
  • Describe the event in a context qualifier

Relations

Founded by (P54)

  • persons (or organisations or businesses) that founded the business.

  • Refers to another organisation the organisation has founded

worked here (inverse property label of Has worked in (P227))

  • Refers to an person that worked for the organisation.

Significant person (P56)

  • Refers to a person that was significant for the organisation.
  • Describe the significance in a context (P47) qualifier.

Member of (P46)

  • Refers to an organisation or business the item is member of.

Has board members (P284)

Is part of (P138)

  • organisation merge of split sometimes, or become part of a larger organisation or consortium. This property can be used to note these relations.
  • add start date (P38) and end date (P39 as qualifiers if apropriate

has part (inverse property label of is part of (P138))

  • Refers to other organisations that are part of this one.

Works

author of (inverse property label of author, P41)

  • refers to a document the organisation has written

has published (inverse property label of publisher P62)

  • refers to a document the organisation (or business ) has published

Media

Image (P2) or Internal image (P24)

  • A picture representing the organisation, for example a logo.
  • An [image] refers to a picture in the wiki repository of images (commons.wikimedia.org) You can link by copying the name of the file from wikipedia or from the repository.
  • An [Internal image] refers to a picture in our own repository. Upload the document first and copy the link here. (You have to be sure that the picture is open source.)
  • Wikicommons images are preferable
  • if you add a qualifier Instance of (P1) with value “featured image" (Q105), the picture will show automatically on top of the page.

Youtube video (P116)

  • a video on youtube about this business.
  • if the video mentions multiple persons, organisations or subjects, make a separate source for it and use the mentions property to refer to the organisation.
  • copy the string after ?v= in the Youtube url and paste it in the [Youtube video] property.

Internal video or Wikicommons media

  • A video on about this organisation.
  • If the video mentions multiple persons, organisations or subjects, make a separate source item for it and use the mentions property to refer to the person.
  • An Wikicommons media refers to a picture in the wiki repository of videos (commons.wikimedia.org) You can link by copying the name of the file from wikipedia or from the repository.

  • The country of the seat of the organisation.

  • A historic adres is a previous name of the street or number of the same physical place. Not to confuse with an change of adress due a move.
  • Add start date (P38) and end date (P39 as qualifiers if apropriate

  • The place or organisation where (parts of) the organisation's archive is kept
  • Can be multiple values, in this case describe with a context qualifier the exact situation.

  • A web resource that is dedicated to this organisation only

Source URL (P64)

  • A web resource that is used as an information source for this item.
  • If specific information is retrieved from a source, add this property as qualifier

  • Describes the source a organisation is mentioned in.
  • The input is done on the source side.

  • Refers to an entry in Wikidata (https://www.wikidata.org )
  • If the organisation exists in Wikidata, add Q-number from Wikidata
