Built 1894 by August Weber as a a mansion with stable. 1908 converted into an animal house by the circus artist and director, Vladimir Leonidovich Durov (1863-1934). 1911-1912 extended by a menagerie, pools, a museum, a zoologist lab and a small theatre hall (90 seats). 1938 reopened as Teatr Zverey im. Durova (Durov Animal Theatre). 1980 extension by a larger theatre hall (328 seats). Since 1992 named Strana Chudes Dedushki Durova (Grandfather Durov Wonderland). (English)
