Built as a multi-purpose assembly hall/theatre (313 seats) and library building for the Unitarian Society of Menomonie by Harvey Ellis. Opened 1889 as Mabel Tainter Memorial Building, also known as Mabel Tainter Theatre. Named after Mabel S. Tainter (1866-1886) the late daughter of the main sponsors, Captain Andrew Tainter and his wife. 1970 renovations. (English)
