Opened 1905 as Hill Opera House. Destroyed by fire in the early 1920s, subsequently restored and re-opened 1925 as a cinema. 1935 renamed California Theater. Damaged by fire on 5 Aug 1957, subsequently restored and re-opend as Showcase Theater. Used as a cinema and as a live music venue. 1982 renamed Phoenix Theater. 1989 renovations after damage by an earthquake. Since the late 1990s operated by the non-profit organization Petaluma Phoenix Center. (English)
