Built 1898 by Ernest Augustus Runtz. Opened 31 Oct 1898 as Crown Theatre. Later renamed Peckham Hippodrome, 1912 renamed Hippodrome Picture Palace and used as a cinema. Closed 1928. Demolished 1932 in favour of the Gaumont Palace cinema (itself demolished 2002 in favour of a block of flats). (English)
